A snake chain is a smooth, tightly joined chain with almost no gaps, so the surface looks like one continuous line. Ours is 925 sterling silver, in 1mm, 2mm and 3mm widths and eight lengths from 40cm (16 in) to 75cm (30 in), starting at $77.24 CAD.
What Makes a Snake Chain Different
Most chains show their links. A snake chain hides them. The pieces sit so close together that the chain reads as a single, flexible strand, and light runs along it in a steady line instead of breaking up at each link. That makes it our smoothest chain. It suits a minimal style, and it is a good base for a light pendant.
1mm, 2mm or 3mm?

Length Matters More Than Width Here
With a snake chain, the length changes the look more than the width, so choose it first. The smooth line makes the drop easy to see. Sizes run from 40cm (16 in) to 75cm (30 in): 40cm and 45cm (16 to 18 in) sit at the base of the neck, 50cm (20 in) near the collarbone, 55cm and 60cm (22 to 24 in) lower on the chest, and 65cm to 75cm (26 to 30 in) over a shirt. Does a snake chain kink?
It is one of the styles most prone to kinking. The tight construction does not flex back once it is creased, and on a smooth surface a kink shows clearly. Never fold or knot the chain, and store it hanging or laid straight.
